We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights for NYE and had breakfast here. The best steaks and egg I’ve had so far! Not a potato person but the potatoes in it is phenomenal that hubby ended up packing it to-go. He also enjoyed the Chicken & Waffles! Almost forgot, the chimichurri sauce on steak is A
The food was really good. The bruss sprout appetizer really had the greatest balance in taste. Service started out a little mweh, the waiter wasn't that pleasant initially. I wasn't overly impressed, although he got better towards the end. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic and inviting. The overall experience wasn't horrible, so I wouldn't mind going again.
Went to Grain and Cane on April 24th for their Patio Party 2025 Kickoff. We could try their new spring menu and everything was great. Drinks were well-balanced and food was delicious. I can tell they did some improvements on the food menu and I really appreciate it since this is a great spot with excellent service. Thanks for having us

I love the old mechanical stock exchange board and the sayings! All the bartenders are great so the drinks are amazing. I asked for a Mezcal drink and Estela made a great one! I don't know what it is called but it looks like an Old Fashioned Mezcal, incredible ask for one if you like Mezcal! I ate the Vegetable Thai Curry and I will have it again. Came here again and asked for Estela's dirty Old fashioned, sit at the bar and ask for one!
The staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. One thing that really stood out to me was the cocktail I ordered,it was served in a chilled glass, which made it feel extra refreshing and memorable. I visited with my 3-year-old and 9-month-old, and the place was very kid-friendly. There were several other families dining around us, which was nice to see. I don’t think there was a dedicated kids’ menu, at least not that I saw, but they did have soft drinks for children, which was appreciated. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Overall, we had a great experience, and I’m sure we’ll be back often!
Stopped in for a quick sandwich late lunch time. Had a nice big piece of awesome fried chicken on great bun with some coleslaw, fries were good. It was like 13 - more than fair. They have some mocktails, a very nicely stocked bar, and what looked like a good beer selection with a few on tap, although I didn't have one. Service was super quick and super friendly. I'm sure it gets busier than when I was there but I'm impressed on all counts really. Really nice selection on the menu. I'm looking forward to going again.
Our server Christine was fabulous! She was authentic and top of her game. The restaurant was beautiful, open, yet felt cozy, with the most comfortable leather chairs. Clearly, someone has attention to detail because I wanted to buy the chairs for my home. The restaurant had a commodity trading board or a train station type sign behind the bar that changed to different fun quotes, mostly about food. All of the quotes were great conversation continuers. I liked the one lamp in the middle of the bar with a purple lamp shade. The lighting, cheetah painting on the brick wall, and mirror were picture worthy. Grain & Cane served complimentary and delicious and dense banana nut bread. We ordered disco fries to share with the table. The fries, cheese curd, and gravy (on the bottom) were outstanding! We could have licked the plate! Three of us ordered eggs benedict. I added lobster to mine. The additional spinach was yummy; we usually find that on eggs - florentine. The salad was fresh. If I had room to eat it all, I would have asked for extra dressing on the side. I don't recall there being much dressing at all. The radishes were cut round and thinly, which made the salad look colorful. My hubby ordered the burger, which had too much pepper and was cooked medium rare and not medium. He didn't tell the server. I wondered why he was eating more of my meal? LOL. All four of us shared the chocolate cake. Ooo la la, it was delicious and decadent! We also shared a scoop each of lemon sorbet, chocolate fudge ice cream, and vanilla ice cream. The lemon sorbet with the chocolate cake paired wonderfully, as well as the chocolate fudge ice cream and lemon sorbet. I love that combination. My friend and hubby ordered an apple cider and lemonade drink with a dried blood orange and cinnamon garnish. They loved every sip! Our other friend ordered a pretty martini cocktail. She liked that, too. Our server Christine gladly took photos of us, too.
